EXOTIC WOODS & FRAME DETAILS

Frames are an important part of art presentation. We believe that a frame should enhance but not distract from the imagery.

Because Fernwood Designs Studio is connected with Fernwood Designs Fine Woodworking the paintings we frame are totally custom creations. My husband Rich and I carefully consider the composition and colors of each painting and build one of kind frames specifically for each painting that alone is a piece of art in it’s own right.

All of our frames are handcrafted in solid hardwoods. We are particularly fond of exotic woods. The natural beauty of the wood grain shines through when fashioned into sleek and contemporary frames. Some of the frames we design receive creative decorative treatments such as burning, distressing, or simple painted accents. Whether the art is under glass with archival matting or a stretched canvas these frames are impressive.
